Artist Statement
"I deal with social conflicts using physical means of expression. Because these themes are very difficult to grasp and act on, I want to develop a performative narrative language on a metaphorical level for a counter-reality. I use different postures and positions in my work. I collage human behavior through depicting animals. This hybrid view gives me more play in how I want to tell the story. An aesthetic starting point of my work is the classic body language of gods, saints and heroes in the depiction of ancient stories. The hand signals and body language in such images are often theatrical and performative. Through my work I am also looking for an ideal human image on a transcultural level."
